Later on, other lighthouses were added to complete the string of beacons which today protect the coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each one has its own special features which, along with its dramatic location, make this group of lighthouses an interesting tourist attraction and a highly recommended visit in the Costa Brava. The following lighthouses can be visited on a route going from north to south:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"http:\/\/redcostabrava.com\/faro-del-port-de-la-selva-o-de-la-punta-de-sarenella\/\">Lighthouse between Llan\u00e7\u00e0 and Port de la Selva or Punta de s&#8217;Arenella Lighthouse:<\/a> The first lighthouse on the Costa Brava going from north to south and a geodesic point registered by the Geographic Institute, its design was used to build the Tossa Lighthouse two years later.<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/redcostabrava.com\/faro-del-cap-de-creus-el-mas-oriental-de-la-peninsula-iberica\/\">Cap de Creus Lighthouse<\/a>: The most easterly point on the Iberian Peninsula, in an unbeatable setting in a rugged landscape and 500 metres from the Cap de Creus.<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/redcostabrava.com\/faro-de-cala-nans-en-cadaques\/\">Cala Nans Lighthouse in Cadaqu\u00e9s<\/a>: Getting to this lighthouse from the Cadaqu\u00e9s promenade is a an enjoyable excursion and suitable for the whole family, a walk of just 6 kilometres (there and back).<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/redcostabrava.com\/faro-de-roses\/\">Roses Lighthouse<\/a>: The northern reference point of the Gulf of Roses, with beautiful panoramic views.&nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/redcostabrava.com\/faro-de-las-islas-medes-lestartit\/\">Medes Islands Lighthouse &#8211; L&#8217;Estartit<\/a>: This lighthouse is important not only because of its function and location but also for some of its historical characteristics.&nbsp;<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/redcostabrava.com\/faro-de-san-sebastian-en-llafranc-palafrugell\/\">San Sebasti\u00e1n Lighthouse in Llafranc &#8211; Palafrugell:<\/a> The most powerful lighthouse in Spain reaching up to 50 miles, with impressive views.<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/redcostabrava.com\/faro-de-palamos-o-de-la-punta-del-molino-faros-de-la-costa-brava\/\">Palamos or La Punta del Molino Lighthouse<\/a>: Known as the Punta del Molino (Windmill Point) Lighthouse because, although today it is now part of the urban area of the town, in its day it was in a more remote area with a windmill.<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/redcostabrava.com\/faro-de-tossa-de-mar\/\">Tossa de Mar Lighthouse<\/a>: As well as its usual function as a beacon and&nbsp; warning of navigation hazards along the coast, this lighthouse is the site of the Mediterranean Lighthouse Visitors\u2019 Centre (<em>Centre d\u2019Interpretaci\u00f3 dels Fars de la Mediterr\u00e1nea<\/em>).
